Spring and summer are my favorite times of year to make flavored water. They look so pretty in a glass or pitcher and taste so light and refreshing.
When I have parties or BBQ’s I fill a large jar with ice, fruit, and water for drinkable table decoration. I will even leave a platter of prepared fruit and a glass full of bamboo skewers out for the guest to make their own flavor combinations. I like this method because the water doesn’t get cloudy from sitting out all day and because guest can identify their drink by their fruit skewer!
Fill a clear pitcher or glass jar with ice 1/4 of the way high. Add desired fruits in a layer on top of the ice facing outward. Fill another 1/4 of the jar with ice and add another fruit layer in the same manor. Repeat one more time.
Fill another pitcher with water and pour down the center of the ice being careful not to disturb the layers. Water will trickle down and taking up the unused space around the ice and at the top of the jar.
This method works in a tall glass too!
